The MetPLATE™ kit is
specific for heavy metal
toxicity. The MetPLATE™
kit is based on enzyme
inhibition in a bacterial strain
by bioavailable heavy metals in
aqueous samples. Bacterial
response to a toxic sample is
conveniently observed on the
96-well microplate. The
intensity of the purple color is
inversely proportional to the
sample toxicity. Absorbance is
measured at 575 nm using a
microplate reader.
One MetPLATE™ test kit contains one vial of freeze-dried BACTERIAL REAGENT, one vial of freeze-dried CHROMOGENIC SUBSTRATE, one vial of DILUENT, one vial of BUFFER, one vial of POSITIVE CONTROL, and one 96 well MICROPLATE.
Equipment Needed to Run a MetPLATE™ Test:
• Test tubes with caps
• Pipettor with tips
• Incubator (35C)
• Microplate reader with a 570
nm filter

MetPLATE™ heavy metal toxicity testing kit is shipped in vacuum-sealed plastic bags.
FluoroMetPLATE™ is similar to MetPLATE™ except the for the use of a fluorogenic substrate. This test is more sensitive than MetPLATE™. A microplate fluorometer is required (with filters: 360 nm for exitation and 485 nm for emission).
